Spring Break Blind Hollow Yurt Backcountry Ski Trip

We are heading up to the Blind Hollow yurt spend a long weekend enjoying the Bear River backcountry. We will explore some of the fantastic riding terrain around Blind Hollow and spend the evenings around the fire in the comforts of the OP's Mongolian-Style yurt. Some backcountry experience is recommended and participants must be expert/advanced riders (able to comfortably ride black diamond western resort terrain). Participants must be in good physical condition and prepared for strenuous uphill hiking. Winter backcountry travel equipment(Alpine Touring, Telemark, Splitboard) are required and available to rent from the OP for a nominal fee. NO SNOWSHOES.

Springboard to Action! Building a Better Syllabus

The Springboard to Action! Series events are yearly workshops sponsored by Empowering Teaching Excellence in the Office of the Provost. These workshops are designed for USU instructors to dedicate the day and implement a practice in their teaching that they had been planning on doing. Each Springboard workshop has a different theme. This year's Springboard to Action Series event is on building a better syllabus starting from picking your IDEA objectives to unmasking the hidden syllabus. Participants will be presented with several short ignition ideas by facilitators, participate in breakouts, evaluate and make changes to their syllabus, and receive feedback from their group and designated facilitator.

We are heading down south to hike and bike the world renown desert red rock in the Moab area. We will spend the weekend exploring some of the amazing mountain biking trails while camping near Moab. Participants must be in good physical condition and prepared for moderate to strenuous biking in a desert environment. No prior experience necessary, beginners are most welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mountain bike (in good working condition) or a rental is available from the OP for no additional cost. Sizes and quantities are limited. Trip cost includes sales tax, mountain bike (if needed), food, transportation, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent and student leadership.
