Health & Wellness Expo: Basic Awareness Defensive Action (BADA)

Come and learn general information for basic self defense and awareness in this free class provided by Campus Recreation. Depending on class size, we may get out pads and show some of the basic moves for self defense. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 30 people. Contestants will be judged on their selection, knowledge and presentation of a favorite food. Be prepared to discuss your favorite food – why it’s your favorite, where you got the recipe, any special techniques used while preparing it, and anything you’d like to share about your favorite food. Come prepared to display your favorite food which was prepared beforehand and provide samples to the judges to taste. Enter as a team of 2 or individual.

Trans Allies on Campus Training

Workshop/Training

Trans/Nonbinary Allies on Campus aims to increase awareness and understanding of our trans/nonbinary community and further understand specific trans/nonbinary issues while training participants to stand with, and advocate for trans/nonbinary individuals. Participants will gain a basic understanding of sex, sexuality, and gender and how these concepts perpetuate microaggressions, discrimination policies, and daily biases. Prepare to dispel some common myths, laugh, and leave with the understanding that there is much work to be done in our community and you are part of the solution.
