Mindfulness Meditation | Sitting in breath and presence
Recreation
FREE REGISTRATION: https://bit.ly/mindfulnessandmeditationweekly Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress. Mindfulness meditation has been proven to support various health conditions - stress, anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, and more - and help you experience thoughts and emotions with greater balance and acceptance, improve attentiveness, and relieve burnout. Practicing self care through mindfulness and meditation can help you relax and focus on what is most important - your overall wellness. This is a weekly, online wellness series hosted by the Utah State University Office of Health Equity and Community Engagement and Tribal & Rural Opioid Initiative Resource Center.

Yin yoga promotes sensory awakening that melts away tension and stress, and is known to release repressed or stored emotions. A tried and true technique to experience fascia and connective tissue release, Yin yoga is also an excellent practice for beginners because it offers plenty of time to uncover the unique benefits of individual poses without worrying about tricky transitions. Practicing self care through mindfulness and meditation can help you relax and focus on what is most important - your overall wellness. This is a weekly, online wellness series hosted by the Utah State University Salt Lake County Health Extension. Certified yoga teacher and Holistic Health Liaison, Liz is passionate about promoting the benefits of mindfulness and yoga in public health settings and beyond. ASPIRE Open House
Special Event
Community members are invited to experience the future of electrified transportation firsthand at an open house later this month.
The open house is a follow-up to the Science Unwrapped talk given by Regan Zane, the director of ASPIRE and a Utah State University professor of electrical engineering, earlier this year. The goal of the event is to help people learn more about the work of ASPIRE and to encourage pre-college students to study electrical engineering.
Activities at the open house will include: riding the all-electric Aggie Bus, which charges while in motion; a raffle to ride the Kenworth hybrid electric semi-truck; a hands-on demonstration with toy remote control cars on a wireless charging track; demonstrations of electric robots and rovers; and opportunities to test-drive electric cars from local auto dealers.
The research center is located at 670 East 1550 North, North Logan. Light refreshments will be served at the event.

Building Emotional Resilience in Girls and Young Women
Workshop/Training
The Utah Women & Leadership Project invites you to join us for our Spring Workshop.
It’s been a tough couple of years for young people, and our girls and young women have some unique challenges, including poor body image, toxic perfectionism, and a tendency to compare. How can you build resilience in young women? How can you teach them to find peace and walk with hope? So many of us also feel like we are drowning ourselves. Adolescent researcher Dr. Jennifer Doty, and clinician Jessica Peterson, share principles of resilience that can be applied to the challenges that girls, young women, and their influencers face: self-compassion, finding purpose, finding balance, and authentic connection.
