Utah Public Radio Summer Garden Party with Temple Grandin
Fundraiser
Join Utah Public Radio for a summer garden party at Bruce Bugbee and Diana West’s historic Crockett home. The evening will include a catered dinner, live music, art activities, tours of the house and gardens, and a very special guest – author, academic, and activist Temple Grandin. Each ticket purchase includes a copy of Temple Grandin’s book “Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions,” which you can get signed that evening. Ute Ladies’ Tresses Orchid Monitoring

Bear River Land Conservancy is seeking community volunteers of all ages that want to help us conduct our annual monitoring of Ute Ladies’ Tresses. Monitoring events will occur on Friday evenings beginning July 28th through early September. Each Friday, we will meet at 6 p.m. at ~5400 W, 1800 S in Mendon. Please wear long sleeve shirts, pants, and sturdy shoes. Ute Ladies’ Tresses are a threatened perennial flowering orchid found in open wetland and riparian micro-habitats, are mostly pollinated by bumblebees, and are dependent on mycorrhizal fungi. As part of our efforts to manage Mendon Meadows Preserve and to protect this rare orchid, Bear River Land Conservancy conducts annual monitoring and established a pollinator garden in 2022. USU Restoration Consortium Short Course: Basic Wetland Delineation
Workshop/Training
Instructors: Dr. Karin Kettenring & Nate Norman Dates: August 22-23, 2023 Description: Learn to apply wetland delineation course material in real-world wetland settings when problem-solving and decision-making in the face of uncertainty are necessary (especially with problematic soil situations). Students will develop specific skills, competencies, and points of view needed by wetland professionals as specified by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

USU Restoration Consortium Short Course: Field Botany: Wetland and riparian plants

In its fifth year, the Connections Luminary allows students the opportunity to process from the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum to the Quad. The public is invited to come to the east side of the Quad at 8:15 p.m. to hold a blue luminary lantern and to line up along the sidewalk as the new students walk to the Quad. Participants will be able to keep their lanterns after the Luminary. Parking is available in the Big Blue Terrace and the Aggie Terrace. The public is invited to participate in this year's luminary on August 25th, 2023. Join us un the Geary Theatre at 8:30 PM to welcome our new students as they begin their new chapter. Participants will be given a blue lantern and will participate in the luminary ceremony.

The Bingham Celebration will be an opportunity to celebrate their research and the positive impact made in the Uintah Basin. This event is invitation only.
Light on the Hill

For years the College of Humanities and Social Sciences has welcomed new students and a new school year with Light on the Hill. Students have the opportunity to get informed about clubs and opportunities offered through the college to make the most of their time here. Alumni and faculty offer inspiration and advice to our students. We also carry on the tradition of lighting candles together.
USU's Annual Day on the Quad

Day On The Quad is the biggest campus community gathering in the fall. Over 300 community and campus groups attend to support USU students and highlight the services of their organizations. It is open to the entire campus community. This event hosts over 4,000 student attendees each year. It is free to attend and usually involves loads of information and swag. It is a great way to reach and market your organization to students.
