Clothesline Project - Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Special Event
The Clothesline Project is an annual event to raise awareness about domestic violence during the month of October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Clothesline Project is a visual display of shirts with graphic messages and illustrations that have been designed by survivors of interpersonal violence or by someone who loves someone who has been killed. It was created as a way for survivors to share what has happened to them as well as highlight the realities behind statistics of domestic violence that are often overlooked. The project will be displayed across USU Campus at various dining services locations. We encourage you to visit a display this month and visit our resources page should you or someone you know need help.

Communities Activated: Stories from Behind the Scenes of Progress
Workshop/Training
Join USU's Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research and the USU Libraries for an "Intersections on Inclusion" panel discussion moderated by Dr. Avery Edenfield. In 2020, USU received the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement, recognizing USU has great work to do in our communities; as a land grant institution we have the responsibility to the communities in which we are located to honor the mission statement of ‘serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement and cultivating diversity of thought and culture.’ This panel will center the voices of community leaders and change-makers dedicated to advancing progress toward equity. As we learn from panelists about their community initiatives and advocacy, participants will be invited to reflect on ways they can engage in their communities to ignite change. Panelists: • Ariel Malan, MHA, Outreach Network and Development Specialist with University of Utah Health Transgender Health Program • Mel Payne, Logan Pride Board of Directors • Roberto Lopez, Board Chair / Project Rainbow Utah & Community Engagement Director for Unidxs • Blair L.
