Appreciative Advising: A Framework for Supporting Students to Achieve Their Dreams, Goals, and Potentials (Part 1 of 2 sessions--2nd session will be May 15) Appreciative Advising is the intentional collaborative practice of asking generative, open-ended questions that help students optimize their educational experiences and achieve their dreams, goals, and potentials. This session is for student-facing professionals at Utah State University (USU) to explore the Appreciative Advising framework, learn from the strategies of student success professionals at USU, and enhance their student success practices.

The Habits of Mind Integration event is sponsored by the Academic Belonging and Learning Excellence Office. Collaborating with learning specialists can help bring evidence-based learning science strategies to their students. In this workshop, Learning Specialists from the Office of Academic Belonging and Learning Excellence will provide instructors with ideas on how to seamlessly integrate Habits of Mind into their existing course structures, assignments, and assessments to foster the mindsets, aptitudes, and dispositions crucial for student success at Utah State University and beyond.

Lunch & Learn - How to Build Credit and Increase Your Score

USU Be Well and Extension's Empowering Financial Wellness Program present a lunch and learn on increasing your credit score. You want to (re)build credit and increase your credit score but you’re not sure where to begin. It can be confusing to understand how certain credit behaviors affect your score and why you may see your score go up and down like a teeter totter. Let us teach you the tricks of the trade so that you can learn how to understand a credit score and your credit report, hacks for increasing your credit score and what factors directly impact it and how to build and protect the credit of your kids and teens.
*Presentation will be recorded. Attendance and participation in this event qualify as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.

USU Be Well and Aetna, USU's Employee Assistance Program present a lunch and learn on increasing our wellbeing through small daily bursts. Life moves fast. Many of us struggle with adding healthy habits to our day or are too exhausted to even get started. Join us for this training where we will discuss what is a burst and explain its benefits, learn about how our thoughts contribute to success, and explain steps for making an action plan and how to keep going. *Presentation will not be recorded.
