Part one of this six series workshop will focus on learning about the mind/body stress response and help identify your personal triggers for stress and anxiety. You will start to create an action plan to effectively manage stress. Attend all of the workshops in the series or just a couple. Either way you will have a new approach to stress. Body Liberation Support Group

Workshop/Training

This group is an opportunity to discuss and support one another within the complicated and varied issues surrounding body liberation, with an emphasis on Body Justice and Fat Liberation, to illuminate the truth and move past societal/cultural messaging in an effort to liberate each individual participant. This group will provide: A safe space to explore societal impacts on group members’ relationship with their bodies, self-image, and health. A safe space to share individual and collective experiences of living in this society; including workplace, dating, family of origin, social media, health systems, etc. A safe space to authentically connect with others around experiences, thoughts, and feelings of living in a thin-obsessed, fat-phobic culture. Resources and information to learn more about the concepts of Body Justice, Fat Liberation, Health At Every Size, etc. This group is open to students, faculty, and staff. Registration is required for all participants.

TIAA Webinar: Paying Yourself - Income Options in Retirement

It’s time to consider a little payback. You’ve made a lot of sacrifices in order to put away enough money to retire. When it’s finally time, do you know how to get the money back? There are lots of considerations, rules and tax implications that make these decisions very important and more complex. Join TIAA representative to learn how to help simplify retirement income, the basic rules that govern the most common retirement accounts, gain perspective on when to tap into different assets, and discover the flexible income choices TIAA offers. Attendance and participation in this event qualifies as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.

Radical Self-Care Series: Creating a Self Care Plan

Join us as we re-examine self-care from an intersectional and radical lens based on the work of Audre Lorde who coined the term. We’ll explore cultivating self-compassion and create both a daily and an emergency self-care plan. This event is open to students, faculty, and staff. American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. You will learn some core skills to treat: - Breathing and cardiac emergencies (CPR, AED, choking) - Injuries (broken bones, burns, cuts, stings) - Sudden illnesses (heat/cold emergencies, allergic reactions) Register at recportal.usu.edu
