Rubrics and Equity-based Grading

This hour-long workshop will introduce participants to the principles of equity-based grading and the use of rubrics to promote fair and transparent assessment at the college and university level. Educators will explore how to design rubrics that align with learning goals while reducing bias and promoting student success across diverse backgrounds. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants will gain practical tools for implementing grading practices that recognize student effort, growth, and diverse ways of demonstrating knowledge.

Benefited employee pay frequency changes January 2025 from one paycheck to two paychecks per month (semi-monthly). How will you prepare for the upcoming change? This 60-minute seminar is designed to expose faculty to the variety of student success resources available at USU. Participants will gain valuable knowledge about USU’s academic support infrastructure. They will recognize that they are not alone in supporting their students' academic progress. The Academic Belonging & Learning Excellence (ABLE) team will lead faculty in discussions that will include an understanding of WHY these supports are necessary, WHERE to find these resources, and HOW faculty can successfully broker students to these success partners
