This Zoom webinar will consist of two panels consisting of professional women who have focused their careers in these areas in various ways. Judges, lawyers, and nonprofit executives will share their experiences and insights about choosing to work within their chosen fields.

By understanding different career options with more clarity, we hope you can make more informed decisions about college majors and your potential professional contributions in the future. USU Bringing War Home Oral History & Roadshow

Cultural

Many of us are familiar with the material remains of war, whether we have direct experience with the battlefield or not. Some of these objects are personal, a way for veterans to preserve their experiences. Often, objects collected by relatives who have participated in the wars of the 20th and 21stcenturies linger on as memorials that help families tell the stories of how their beloved fathers, grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers, cousins, and siblings contributed to the larger history of war. The “Bringing War Home” project aims to enable our diverse community, military and civilian alike, to share their wartime objects and the stories that surround them. Working with community partners, we are preparing to host three full-day roadshows, where we invite the community to share family stories and to bring wartime objects for us to photograph and preserve in a digital archive (an online website where others can view and learn about these objects and their stories). One of our main goals is to create opportunities to engage veterans, military families, students, and communities in ongoing conversations on how objects can help us understand modern war.

Recreation

FREE REGISTRATION: https://bit.ly/mindfulnessandmeditationweekly Yin yoga is a slow-paced, passive type of yoga that incorporates long holds and stretching designed for deep contemplation and mind-body awareness. Yin yoga promotes sensory awakening that melts away tension and stress, and is known to release repressed or stored emotions. A tried and true technique to experience fascia and connective tissue release, Yin yoga is also an excellent practice for beginners because it offers plenty of time to uncover the unique benefits of individual poses without worrying about tricky transitions. Practicing self care through mindfulness and meditation can help you relax and focus on what is most important - your overall wellness. Utah Symphony in Logan: STEVEN OSBORNE PLAYS RACHMANINOFF’S PIANO CONCERTO NO. 2

Arts/Entertainment

Written after a period of debilitating writer’s block that not even Tolstoy could help solve, Rachmaninoff’s 2nd piano concerto was a full vindication of the composer’s early promise. Concert Highlights Include: Disappear into quiet contemplation with Rachmaninoff’s textless song, about which the composer asked the pondered “what need is there of words…” Scottish pianist Steven Osborne comes to Utah to perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a work the composer reportedly sought the services of a hypnotist to unlock. Bergen National Opera Artistic and General Director Eivind Gullberg Jensen makes his Utah Symphony on the work Tchaikovsky modestly called the “best and most sincere of all my creations.”
