USU Uintah Basin Community Education Courses: Chakra 101

Workshop/Training

This is not a class that you take once and forget. Women in Welding Workshop

Workshop/Training

Over the course of three sessions, participants will learn how to set up a welder for GMAW/FCAW, apply basic troubleshooting techniques, use basic shop tools and machinery, and will be introduced to entry-level fabrication techniques. Students will complete a small project by the end of the course to take home with them.

This workshop runs three consecutive Saturdays, September 23, 30 and October 7, 2023.

In this fast pace two hour training, participants will learn about microaggressions, terminology, and key issues that impact the LGBT+ community. Participants will have the opportunity to sign an allies pledge and receive an ally sticker. Registration is required to receive the zoom link.

CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & First Aid

Workshop/Training

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers and First Aid course is to instruct those who have a duty to act (professional rescuers) in the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. This is a blended learning course, you should expect a direct link to the online content to be sent to your email 3 days prior to the course to complete the online learning content prior to the start time of the course. Trans Allies on Campus Training

Workshop/Training

Trans/Nonbinary Allies on Campus aims to increase awareness and understanding of our trans/nonbinary community and further understand specific trans/nonbinary issues while training participants to stand with, and advocate for trans/nonbinary individuals. Participants will gain a basic understanding of sex, sexuality, and gender and how these concepts perpetuate microaggressions, discrimination policies, and daily biases. Prepare to dispel some common myths, laugh, and leave with the understanding that there is much work to be done in our community and you are part of the solution. Wilderness First Aid Course (WFA)

Workshop/Training

This course is a great introduction to wilderness medicine and basic life support skills. It is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast who wants more than an urban first aid course provides. The emphasis of the class is on recognizing and treating life-threatening traumatic and medical emergencies, common wilderness injuries, bandaging and splinting, and environmental injuries. CPR is included in the curriculum.
