American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. You will learn some core skills to treat: - Breathing and cardiac emergencies (CPR, AED, choking) - Injuries (broken bones, burns, cuts, stings) - Sudden illnesses (heat/cold emergencies, allergic reactions)

CPR/AED & First Aid for Professional Rescuers

Workshop/Training

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers and First Aid course is to instruct those who have a duty to act (professional rescuers) in the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. Register at recportal.usu.edu.

Alumni Backcountry Ski Tour

Recreation

Alumni! Come grab some backcountry turns with us! We will venture into the Bear River backcountry to seek out snow that you can't get to on a ski lift. Learn some of the basics of backcountry travel and safety. No backcountry experience is required but you must be comfortable riding double blue to black diamond resort terrain. Participants must be prepared for strenuous hiking. Backcountry touring skis or splitboard with skins are required and available to rent for an additional $20+tax for trip participants. NO SNOWSHOES. Trip cost includes transportation, avalanche beacon, shovel, probe and student leadership. Register at recportal.usu.edu

Workshop/Training

Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is one way to relieve or reduce aches and pains that come up from stress and muscle tension. In this workshop, you will experience PMR and learn how to use it in your every day life. This workshop will also guide you through creating a wellness plan that will outline specific steps you can take to reduce stress and improve quality of life. The wellness plan will focus on several dimensions in life including: sleep, nutrition, academic, relationships and more.
