Logan Canyon Winds Recital

The Logan Canyon Winds, the faculty wind quintet at Utah State University, welcome you to their fall recital, featuring works by Robert Muczynski, Francis Poulenc, Carl Nielsen and Dmitri Shostakovich. Comprised of Dr. Jeiran Hasan (flute), Marilyn Cole (oboe), Thiago Ancelmo (clarinet), Dr. Joel Ockerman (horn) and Leon Chodos (bassoon), the quintet will also be joined by guest artist Amy Glenn (piano) in this recital. Admission is free, and a livestream of this event will be available for those unable to attend in person.

This collaborative project showcases research-driven imagery on key topics such as agriculture, water management, and development, while highlighting the vital work of USU researchers and local community partnerships. The exhibition will be featured at the Tippets and Eccles Gallery and in USU’s Special Collections and Archives. This work was created in partnership with USU’s Institute for Land, Water, and Air and funded by a Bear Lake Needs Assessment grant administered by Utah Forestry, Fire, and State Lands.

USU Eastern, WILD 2400: Wildland Resources Techniques class will present their final research presentation at the Price Office of the Bureau of Land Management, BLM on Thursday, Nov. 21st from 9am-11am. Students in the Wildlife Ecology and Management major at USU Eastern will lead a group presentation. Students in this Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) and Research, Scholarship, & Creative Inquiry Intensive (RSCI) designated course will present their findings of a CURE (Classroom Undergraduate Research Experience). I’ll share my experiences, how a chance encounter with public housing led to a career dedicated to working to help the under – and un-housed; and along the way, how my professional association helped prepare me to tackle career challenges.

Cranksgiving
Special Event
Cranksgiving is a national annual bike race/food drive/scavenger hunt/party on bikes. After registering, you and your team of 2-4 people will meet at Aggie Blue Bikes (located at the junction of Military Science and the Fieldhouse) at 10am to receive instructions and a "manifesto" which will be your guide for the event. The manifesto will have a list of grocery stores to visit and a list of food items requested by the Cache Food Pantry. You and your team will plan a route, bike to the stores, and purchase the food on the list. There will also be bonus stops where you and your team must complete a challenge. Once you have everything, we will all meet at the Cache Food Pantry at 1pm to donate the food and for participants to get prizes. Registration for this event is free, but participants should anticipate spending upwards of $15 on groceries.
