Alise King Exhibition

Arts/Entertainment

Alise King is an American photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her Master of Arts in Fashion Film and Photography at the Paris College of Art, Paris, France in 2021.

Her photography focuses on portraiture while challenging the concept of gender and social constructs in today’s society. She creates work that comments on social consumption and the way it engulfs our day-to-day life. She aims to represent diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of her work while producing emotion through lighting and staging.

Still highlights the works created during her studies in Paris, France. Her collection of art showcases conceptual photography and videography discussing concepts of mental health, societal norms, inclusivity, consumption, and performance as well as the exploration of fashion photography and studio portraiture. The intention of Still is to showcase ways we are still growing, still developing, and still learning.

Tiny House Exhibit / Interior Design and Architecture Program

Arts/Entertainment

This exhibit shows a comprehensive project between Architectural Graphics I + II and CADD I + II. The project outline is simple: design a small residence for two people, approximately 500 sqft per level. The residence must have more than one level, be built in Utah, and meet all residential building codes. Students begin their design by abstracting an object, which then develops into architecture. The students create presentation drawings, a three-dimensional model, set of construction documents, and interior and exterior renderings of their custom design.

The Status & Experiences of Utah Women of Color

Panel Discussion/Presentation

The Utah Women & Leadership Project invites you to join us for our first Fall Women’s Leadership Forum.

As Utah continues to become more diverse, it is critical that we understand the status and experiences of girls and women within all social and identity groups – including race and ethnicity. To this end, the Utah Women & Leadership Project published five research snapshots that documented the available data on Utah women in the following ethnic/race categories: Pacific Islander, Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaskan Native. The UWLP team also hosted 11 community conversations—two for women in each of these categories and one with New American women. These were then summarized in a series of short reports. This event brings together accomplished women who represent each race/ethnic group to share and discuss these reports and their own observations, experiences, and insights being women of color in the state. This panel will also discuss how to best move forward to support and empower girls and women of color in Utah.

Register to attend.

College of Science 2022 Fall Convocation

Ceremony/Awards/Celebration

Fall Convocation celebrates the College of Science's enduring legacy by recognizing outstanding student recipients of our graduate and undergraduate College of Science scholarships and awards, as well as the generous scholarship donors supporting these scholars in their endeavors. The annual, invitation-only gathering provides an opportunity for Aggies, from generation to generation, to share their stories, their challenges and their wisdom in warm fellowship.

Our college’s alumni often cite the faculty, staff, fellow students and family, who encouraged them in their academic journey, along with donors, who provided financial support that made their education at Utah State possible. Many of these alumni seek opportunities to give back and offer a hand up to new Aggies following in their footsteps.
