CIDI Workshop - Editing 2+ Courses in one Place with Canvas Blueprints

Canvas allows a teacher to create a "blueprint" course, where updates can be made just once and then synced to several associated courses. This can greatly ease the management of multiple versions of the same class. This workshop shows how to use and effectively manage blueprint courses.

Clothesline Project - Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Special Event

The Clothesline Project is an annual event to raise awareness about domestic violence during the month of October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Clothesline Project is a visual display of shirts with graphic messages and illustrations that have been designed by survivors of interpersonal violence or by someone who loves someone who has been killed. It was created as a way for survivors to share what has happened to them as well as highlight the realities behind statistics of domestic violence that are often overlooked. The project will be displayed across USU Campus at various dining services locations. We encourage you to visit a display this month and visit our resources page should you or someone you know need help.

Inclusive Excellence Symposium

As a part of ongoing efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive community, the USU Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is launching its Inclusive Excellence Symposium. This year's Inclusive Excellence Symposium aims to identify, define, and relate inclusive excellence and its practices to research, teaching, leadership, and academic excellence through formal workshops and TedED-style presentations. We also hope to facilitate and recognize collaborative efforts advancing diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence at USU postering and other asynchronous methods highlighting work across campus and the community.

The Soul of the Social Worker: An Ethical Call for Self-Awareness Within Spiritually Sensitive Social Work Practice

Holly Oxhandler, PhD, LMSW, associate professor and associate dean for research at Baylor University's Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, will be presenting on the topic of religious and spiritual competence in social work practice. This event is free and open to the community. It may have special relevance for social work practitioners, as well as those practicing in allied mental health professions. Two hours of social work continuing education credits are available for attendance.

Lunch & Learn - Workplace Ergonomics and Wellness Considerations

Workshop/Training

USU Be Well and Cache Valley Hospital present a lunch and learn on workplace ergonomics and other wellness considerations. Chandler Squire will discuss appropriate body mechanics and ergonomics for sitting and standing positions, as well as addressing environmental considerations. He will also cover movements to address mechanical strain as well as fatigue and stress reduction. Refreshments provided by Cache Valley Hospital will be available on first come first serve basis. *Presentation will be available in person and virtually and will be recorded. Attendance and participation in this event qualify as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.*
