6th Annual Paper & Clay

Arts/Entertainment

Paper & Clay is a national juried exhibition open to all BFA & MFA printmaking and ceramic students across the country. This year’s exhibition showcases 54 exceptional contemporary student works from 20 various academic institutions. This year’s juror is printmaking artist and University of Minneapolis professor Jenny Schmid.

The reception for the exhibit is on Thursday, Feb 16, from 5 – 7 PM.

JEDI EcoLunch: Implicit Bias Training

Implicit Bias Training put on by the Office of Equity, this EcoLunch is hosted by the graduate student JEDI Committee. EcoLunch is time for graduate students to informally present their research to peers, share skills and experiences, and discuss important topics in today’s field of natural resources. This is a time to learn about others’ research and support peers in their graduate school endeavors! In addition to a rousing discussion, pizza is provided for those that attend.

Health & Wellness Expo: Body Positivity

Panel Discussion/Presentation

The goal of the Body Positivity movement is to challenge how society views the body and help people build acceptance of their own bodies. Body image influences our mental health and well-being as poor body image can increase risk for depression and eating disorders. This presentation will address the unrealistic body standards in today's world, provide you with more information on what body positivity is and the reasoning behind it, and also give you tips on what you can do to improve your body image. *Presentation will be held virtually via Zoom as well as in person - use the website URL to register for Zoom.*

Digital Take Out features Political Science in Nuclear with Alum Ashley Naughton

The CHaSS Alumni Lunch Series has gone online! Join us for Digital Take-Out as we discuss careers with esteemed alumni. Listen in and participate by asking questions during the live event on Zoom.   On Friday, February 17 at 12:30PM MST, we'll feature Ashley Naughton (BA International Studies ’16) for a conversation on Political Science majors working in the nuclear industry. Ashley Naughton is a Technical Project Manager for Los Alamos National Laboratory. This historic laboratory, where the Manhattan Project was established, is federally-funded institution that focuses on nuclear research and development to advance national security. Ashley graduated from Utah State University in 2016 with a degree in International Studies and was a member of Theta Nu Xi sorority. USU provided her with the skills and experience to become a strong professional within the nuclear industry. As a native New Mexican, Ashley is happy to be back in her hometown and can be seen hiking with her dogs or enjoying a delicious red chile breakfast burrito.  Listen in and participate by asking questions during the live Zoom event on February 17 at 12:30PM MST.
