This is the Valentine's Day event of the year! Treat yourself to an evening of dining and dancing at the only dance hall remaining in Utah with a sprung dance floor. Music is provided by the USU Jazz Orchestra and USU Jazz Ensemble big bands, led by Jon Gudmundson and Greg Wheeler, featuring a number of highly talented singers from Utah State. Three nights only: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 13, 14 & 15. Thursday is dancing only, Friday & Saturday offers the option of a delicious meal prepared by Cache Valley's own Firehouse Pizza. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship.

Meet the fabulous fipple family at the next Music Box Concert. Almost everyone has played a fipple instrument before because they are all members of the whistle family! Music Box Concerts are designed to give young children a chance to interact with live musicians. These FREE events are open to everyone and are sponsored by the Music Department of Caine College of the Arts and Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Education Endowment. Bring a pillow or blanket with you, as most activities will take place on the floor. Please be aware that photos taken during this event may be used for promotional purposes. Wasserman Festival with Marc-Andre Hamelin, piano

A performer of near-superhuman technical prowess, (The New York Times), pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin is known worldwide for his unrivaled blend of consummate musicianship and brilliant technique in the great works of the established repertoire, as well as for his intrepid exploration of the rarities of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries in concert and on disc, earning his place as a true icon of the piano. An exclusive recording artist for Hyperion Records, his discography includes more than 60 albums, with notable recordings of a broad range of repertoire. Mr. Hamelin has composed music throughout his career, with nearly 30 compositions to his name. The majority of those works, including the Etudes and Toccata on Lâ Homme arme, commissioned by the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, are published by Edition Peters. Born in Montreal, Marc-Andre Hamelin is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the German Record Criticsâ Association and has received seven Juno Awards and eleven GRAMMY nominations. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier de lâ Ordre du Quebec, and a member of the Royal Society of Canada.

USU's new Assistant Professor of Horn Dr. Lauren Hunt appears in recital, in collaboration with colleagues from the USU faculty. The program will include Beethoven's Sonata for Piano and Horn, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth; the western premiere of a work by André Mehmari, commissioned by Dr. Hunt in 2012; and works for horn and percussion, and horn and harp.
