A Time to Die: Adoption of Physician-Assisted Dying in Utah

Panel Discussion/Presentation

Physician-assisted dying is legal in at least ten U.S. states and the District of Columbia under legislation known as Death with Dignity Laws. Should Utah also offer the option? Join a online panel discussion led by USU bioethicist Andy Anderson; Pat Sadoski, senior care consultant and retired hospice nurse; and family physician and hospice medical director Matthew Welter. Hansen Life Sciences Retreat

Playful Explorations Related to Dynamical Systems

We will develop an algorithm, perhaps the exact one the Babylonians are credited for, and then explore iterative maps, Newton’s method, fixed points and an existence theorem.

This presentation is based on the first chapter of Dynamical Systems by Shlomo Sternberg (2010, Dover).

Inquiring minds of all ages are invited to Science Unwrapped, the public outreach program of USU's College of Science. Featured speaker is USU evolutionary ecologist Norah Saarman, who presents "Making Use of the Great and Small: Tracking Disease-Carrying Mosquitoes with Satellites and Genetics" at 7 pm in the Emert Auditorium (ESLC 130) of the Eccles Science Learning Center on USU's Logan campus.
