Body Liberation Support Group
Workshop/Training
This group is an opportunity to discuss and support one another within the complicated and varied issues surrounding body liberation, with an emphasis on Body Justice and Fat Liberation, to illuminate the truth and move past societal/cultural messaging in an effort to liberate each individual participant. This group will provide: A safe space to explore societal impacts on group members’ relationship with their bodies, self-image, and health. A safe space to share individual and collective experiences of living in this society; including workplace, dating, family of origin, social media, health systems, etc. A safe space to authentically connect with others around experiences, thoughts, and feelings of living in a thin-obsessed, fat-phobic culture. Resources and information to learn more about the concepts of Body Justice, Fat Liberation, Health At Every Size, etc. This group is open to students, faculty, and staff. Registration is required for all participants.

AJEDI Series: Heart2Heart Workshop
Workshop/Training
Heart2Heart (H2H) is a theoretically-grounded intervention developed by people of color for people of color. In this series, we will build a community of support as participants learn about intersectional identities, racial wellness, microaggressions, empowerment, and microinterventions. Over the course of 8 weeks, we will build a Wellness Toolbox together and practice mindfulness.
Communities Activated: Stories from Behind the Scenes of Progress

Join USU's Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research and the USU Libraries for an "Intersections on Inclusion" panel discussion moderated by Dr. Avery Edenfield. In 2020, USU received the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement, recognizing USU has great work to do in our communities; as a land grant institution we have the responsibility to the communities in which we are located to honor the mission statement of ‘serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement and cultivating diversity of thought and culture.’ This panel will center the voices of community leaders and change-makers dedicated to advancing progress toward equity. As we learn from panelists about their community initiatives and advocacy, participants will be invited to reflect on ways they can engage in their communities to ignite change. LGBTQ+ Support Group is for students that identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and those that are questioning if they are a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Students are provided with the opportunity to get together in a safe environment where they can learn from, and support, each other. Each week, we will discuss important issues that LGBTQ+ individuals face with topics being chosen by those who wish to participate. This group will be co-facilitated by Jacob Cameron, a therapist from USU Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and Erika-Danielle Lundström, the Gender and Sexuality Coordinator at the Inclusion Center. In this two hour training, participants learn about key terminology, microaggressions, state laws, and other key topics that impact the LGBT+ community. Participants have the opportunity to take a commitment pledge and receive an allies sticker. BIPOC Support and Solidarity
Student Activities
BIPOC support and Solidarity group is a peer-to-peer support group developed by BIPOC students for BIPOC students. This support group is available to all BIPOC students or students with Multiple Marginalized Identities. The purpose of this group is to provide support to students who have faced microaggressions or discrimination. The group will provide empowerment through peer-to-peer support allowing for a greater sense of belonging on campus.

Thesis and dissertation format information sessions provide a thorough survey of USU thesis and dissertation format requirements and guidelines, journal and other departmental format options, and tools that may be useful in the preparation of a thesis or dissertation including the publication guide.Thesis and dissertation format information sessions are held several times during the school year for doctoral and MS/MA plan A students (plan B student papers are not reviewed by the School of Graduate Studies). These sessions provide a thorough survey of USU thesis and dissertation format requirements and guidelines, journal and other departmental format options, and tools that may be useful in the preparation of a thesis or dissertation including the publication guide.
