CIDI Workshop - Digital Badging Using Canvas Credentials (previously Badgr)

Digital badges are sometimes called microcredentials. They can be awarded to students for various accomplishments and then shared by students on social media and elsewhere as an indicator of their accomplishment or competence. Canvas has an integrated digital badging tool called Canvas Credentials (previously called Badgr). This workshop addresses how to create, award, and track digital badges.
48th Annual Honors Last Lecture, featuring Dr. Colin Flint
Lecture/Readings
The University Honors Program presents the 48th Annual Honors Last Lecture, featuring Dr. Colin Flint, Distinguished Professor of Political Science in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Honors students nominated and interviewed faculty, selecting Dr. Flint as the 2023 Honors Outstanding Professor. His talk, titled “Dare to Build Global Peace,” will challenge audience members to consider the relationship between national security and the geopolitics of global peace. The livestream for a statewide audience and the recording of the event after its completion can be accessed from the University Honors Program website.

The major function of this committee is to serve as the Senate committee on educational policy, including programa discontinuance for academic reasons. In addition to conducting studies and making recommendations as specifically instructed by the Senate, the committee itself may initiate such activities.

CIDI Workshop - Editing 2+ Courses in one Place with Canvas Blueprints

Canvas allows a teacher to create a "blueprint" course, where updates can be made just once and then synced to several associated courses. This can greatly ease the management of multiple versions of the same class. This workshop shows how to use and effectively manage blueprint courses.

He also serves on the Utah Humanities and the PBS Utah Board of Directors and is the author of "The Bear River Massacre; A Shoshone History".
