Front & Center Webinar: Balancing Support and Boundaries with Students

Workshop/Training

In this session we will cover the challenging task of how to be a caring supporter of students while setting healthy boundaries and attending to your own self-care. We will do exercises to increase intentionality and consistency in boundary setting; consider our verbal and nonverbal boundary cue behaviors; play a Kahoot game to see if we’re merging into the therapist lane; do active script work for responding to struggling students; and consider personal “policies” for maximizing student support and healthy boundary setting. We will also discuss how to refer to which resources when small and big mental health issues arise.

CIDI Workshop - AI in Teaching: Basics and Opportunities

In this workshop, we discuss the basics of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, MS Copilot, Dall-E, etc., as they pertain to higher education. Specifically, we'll seek to address how they work and ways teachers can choose to approach them in their classes. We'll discuss syllabus language, AI detection tools, and ways to encourage students to think critically, use AI responsibly, and demonstrate their own capabilities. We'll also share some ideas and examples of AI as a teaching tool.
