The Springboard to Action! Series events are yearly workshops sponsored by Empowering Teaching Excellence in the Office of the Provost. These workshops are designed for USU instructors to dedicate the day and implement a practice in their teaching that they had been planning on doing. Each Springboard workshop has a different theme. This year's Springboard to Action Series event is on building a better syllabus starting from picking your IDEA objectives to unmasking the hidden syllabus. Participants will be presented with several short ignition ideas by facilitators, participate in breakouts, evaluate and make changes to their syllabus, and receive feedback from their group and designated facilitator.

In this workshop, we discuss the basics of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, as they pertain to higher education. Specifically, we'll seek to address what they are capable of and the various ways teachers can choose to approach them in their classes.
