FSQ at USU Series: Nature’s Resonance

Arts/Entertainment

We’re thrilled to open our season with the world premiere of "Arboreal," a new work written for the Fry Street Quartet by celebrated composer Laura Kaminsky. Thirteen years and over 60 performances ago, Kaminsky composed the string quartet "Rising Tide" for the FSQ, anchoring their multi-disciplinary project on global sustainability titled "Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project." In this new work, Kaminsky delves into a sonic exploration of trees — their character, processes, beauty and the vital role they play in sustaining life on Earth. This evocative piece promises to be a powerful and moving experience, setting the tone for a season that reflects on our relationship with the natural world.
