Alzheimer's Prevention Health Fair

Clinical neuropsychologist and USU professor of psychology JoAnn Tschanz will join other USU faculty with expertise in psychology, aging, neuroscience and more to host a health fair for Northern Utah residents on June 29. The fair is focused on Alzheimer’s Disease awareness and prevention. Residents over the age of 55 as well as caregivers are encouraged to attend.

Rock Climbing: City of Rocks Trip
Recreation
We are heading north across the border to the City of Rocks National Preserve to climb and camp. We will spend our days exploring and climbing some of the amazing routes in the City and our evenings around the camp fire. No climbing experience is necessary for this trip and all abilities are welcome. Participants must be prepared for overnight camping, moderate hiking and heights. The trip cost includes transportation, food, camping fees, group equipment and shoes, helmet and harness. Space is limited, so register today!

Rock Climbing: City of Rocks Trip

We are heading north across the border to the City of Rocks National Preserve to climb and camp. We will spend our days exploring and climbing some of the amazing routes in the City and our evenings around the camp fire. No climbing experience is necessary for this trip and all abilities are welcome. Participants must be prepared for overnight camping, moderate hiking and heights. The trip cost includes transportation, food, camping fees, group equipment and shoes, helmet and harness. Space is limited, so register today!

Faculty and Staff! Come spend several days rafting the beautiful Desolation and Gray Canyons on the Green River. We will pack everything we need in rafts and leave civilization behind to travel downstream through the Desolation wilderness. We will enjoy sandy beaches, historical sites, and numerous rapids that fill this 84-mile section of river. Participants must be able to swim, prepared for moderate physical activity, and six days in a hot desert wilderness environment with temperatures over 100° F (38°C). Faculty/Staff: $850 Faculty Staff w/ARC Membership: $750 Trip costs include food, permit, transportation, rafting equipment, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and OP leadership.

Faculty and Staff! Come spend several days rafting the beautiful Desolation and Gray Canyons on the Green River. We will pack everything we need in rafts and leave civilization behind to travel downstream through the Desolation wilderness. We will enjoy sandy beaches, historical sites, and numerous rapids that fill this 84-mile section of river. Participants must be able to swim, prepared for moderate physical activity, and six days in a hot desert wilderness environment with temperatures over 100° F (38°C). Faculty/Staff: $850 Faculty Staff w/ARC Membership: $750 Trip costs include food, permit, transportation, rafting equipment, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and OP leadership.

In this workshop, we discuss the basics of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, MS Copilot, Dall-E, etc., as they pertain to higher education. Specifically, we'll seek to address how they work and ways teachers can choose to approach them in their classes. We'll discuss syllabus language, AI detection tools, and ways to encourage students to think critically, use AI responsibly, and demonstrate their own capabilities. We'll also share some ideas and examples of AI as a teaching tool.
