Workshop/Training
The eLearnX event is cosponsored by the Empowering Teaching Excellence (ETE) and by the Center for Instructional Design and Innovation (CIDI). This three-day event provides a hands-on deep dive into the teaching tools and methodologies of online, virtual, and hybrid instruction. Day 1: Sessions on digital pedagogy and instructor presence. Day 2: Breakout sessions on edtech teaching tools and practical applications of instructional approaches from USU instructors and instructional professionals. Day 3: Culminates in each participant designing an activity for their own course, and access to other useful resources than can be immediately implemented.

CIDI Workshop - New Quizzes in Canvas
Workshop/Training
Learn how to leverage New Quizzes in Canvas to create a more dynamic assessment experience. This workshop will include New Quizzes creation, question types, settings, moderating, and editing. Changes to the workshop curriculum can be made based on instructor experience.

Lunch & Learn - Taking Sleep Seriously

USU Be Well and Aetna, USU's Employee Assistance Program provider present a lunch and learn on the importance and benefits of sleep. How important is sleep? Without it you wouldn’t survive. Sleep is an essential part of daily life. It helps us to stay focused, remember things and keeps us energized and able to face the tasks of the day. This training looks at what is considered “normal” sleep, things that might indicate a sleeping disorder, lifestyle influences on sleep, ways to increase your chances of getting a good night’s sleep, and where to go for more information. *Presentation will not be recorded. Attendance and participation in this event will qualify as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.

USU Tooele Campus Tours
Information/Orientation
Join our local Admissions Specialist Mike Booth for tours of the USU Tooele campus facilities and to learn more about college in Tooele. Tours last approximately 30-40 minutes and all guests will receive free Aggie Ice Cream on providing contact information for the university. Tours may be given offered the main building or the Science and Technology Building depending on timing and building availability.

CIDI Workshop - Create Custom Message Campaigns with Delphinium
Workshop/Training
Delphinium adds a graphical presentation to your Canvas content and adds some game elements to help increase student engagement. It also provides a feature to message students using a form letter approach so you can quickly email students who meet certain criteria and include their name and number of points they have earned to date. This workshop addresses this custom messaging function.
