Description – Max Saunders MFA Thesis show “Artifact” is a collection of woodfired vessels. His work explores gestural mark-making using both functional and sculptural vessels as a canvas. Forms range from teapots, and cups to large vessels that seem to reference archeological relics and geological processes. Texture, time, and material processes play an important role in the work.

USU Guitar Ensembles

The USU Guitar Ensembles Concert will showcase USU guitar students playing a variety of styles ranging from rock, funk, jazz, classical and other genres on both acoustic and electric guitars. The Guitar Ensembles Concert has been a tradition at USU for over 35 years and brings a unique and varied sound to the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall. This year's concert features guest artist Danny Gottlieb, one of the most popular drummers in jazz and contemporary music, with the electric guitar ensembles.
Danny Gottlieb has appeared on more than 300 CDs, including four Grammy winners. As a leader, he has five CDs under his own name. He has been on the covers of Modern Drummer, Down Beat, Drums and Percussion, Rhythm, and Drum Scene magazines.
Native American Cultural Immersion

Ten non-Native Americans among staff and Faculty from our campus will participate in a six-hour guided tour of Monument Valley's most important cultural and archeological sites. The event's objective is to learn about the culture, traditions, and beliefs of the Diné (Navajo People) and how that may affect the relationship with Native American students and the everyday teaching and mentoring practices.
Our tour will be provided by Monument Valley Safari and guided by Don Mose Jr. We will leave Blanding at 7:00 in the morning and return from Monument Valley at 2:30 pm. The tour includes a stop at Golding's Lodge Restaurant for lunch.

Increasing Our Critical Consciousness of Anti-Black Racism is a presentation that will (a) introduce the Critical Consciousness of Anti-Black Racism Model (Mosley et al., 2020), (b) explain racial trauma as it manifests for Black people in the US today, (c) provide an overview of practical approaches to antiracism and resistance that can help reduce the negative racial trauma impacts on Black people, and (d) provide resources that will facilitate reflection and highlight personalized pathways toward critical antiracist actions specific to the Black community.

Join USU's Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research and the USU Libraries for a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Christy Glass. This is the final event in the "Intersections on Inclusion" series for the 2021-2022 academic year. Recent conversations in Utah and nationwide highlight the debate and division surrounding Critical Race Theory (CRT) in education. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the ways CRT informs and deepens our teaching, research, and community engagement in higher education. Panelists will explore how they use CRT in the classroom and in their research, and discuss how doing so advances USU’s mission of “cultivating diversity of thought and culture" and “serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement.” Join us for an engaging—and celebratory—discussion that will reenergize our shared purpose in this work and build connections across our university. Labyrinth Canyon Canoe Trip

APRIL 13-17: We are heading down south to the calm flowing waters of the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon. We will load everything we need in canoes and paddle 45 miles of river winding through beautiful sandstone cliffs. Participants must be able to swim and prepared to paddle a canoe in variable springtime weather in a desert environment. The trip cost includes sales tax, food, transportation, vehicle shuttle, permit fee, canoes, tent, sleeping bag, pad, cooking equipment and student leadership. REGISTER AT RECPORTAL.USU.EDU

The aim of this conference is to empower emerging artists and students of USU to engage with community members and causes with purpose and intention—to be able to instigate and participate in sustainable, positive, and mutual change. The highlight of this conference is the keynote address by assistant professor of global modern and contemporary art history, María del Mar González-González.

Designed as a 6 class series, with each class building upon the last, Prenatal Yoga is focused on increasing strength and comfort during pregnancy through alignment-based yoga techniques. We will also emphasize labor preparation through movement and breath, strengthening your body and nervous system for an empowering birth experience, and teaching you some powerful tools to carry with you into the postpartum period. The 6-week program is only $10. Drop-in passes cost $5 for each class.

Join us as we come together to share a space, a meal, a few stories, and parts of our hearts in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Our night will include delicious halal food, cultural enrichment, and opportunities to connect with Aggies from different faiths and backgrounds. Students often feel uncomfortable talking about sex or confidently setting boundaries. This 3-part series will increase students’ knowledge about sexual health and sexuality, and empower them to be more specific and proactive when setting their boundaries in romantic and/or sexual relationships. Join the Office of Equity's Undergraduate Peer Educators for any or all of these student-led workshops, depending on your interest and availability: Part 1, April 2nd, 2-3pm: Demystifying Sex Sex-education basics like reproductive system anatomy, consent conversations, and gender identity & expression. Part 2, April 9th, 2-3pm: "Sextras" Information on hygiene, birth control, and STIs. ~Novelty condom giveaway~ Learn important health facts and get a glow in the dark or flavored condom!
